Clear Align Therapy

Adults and some teens want their orthodontic treatment to be more discreet. Clear aligners, like Invisalign®, straighten teeth with nearly undetectable aligners. Dr. Gallois is certified to provide clear aligner therapy to patients in Stamford, CT.

When to Choose Clear Aligners

In addition to the desire to straighten teeth without traditional metal or ceramic braces, patients must have the correct orthodontic situation for best results. Mild to moderate spacing or crowding generally responds well to clear aligners. You must be dedicated to straightening your teeth because the aligners offer the option of removing them, and you must stick to your treatment plan.

Children and young teens are usually not candidates for Invisalign® or clear aligner treatment because their teeth and jaws are still growing, and they also may not be as disciplined with wearing the aligners.

How Does It Work?

When you begin clear aligner therapy, we will use state-of-the-art technology to create a 3D digital image of your teeth as they are now. Using dental software, we map out a plan to move your teeth into their optimal positions. You’ll be able to preview the progress of your smile on our computer monitor.

Our lab will use the 3D images to create a series of aligners that will take you from your current dentition to your final smile. At each visit, we will examine your progress and provide you with your next aligners. Aligners should be removed to eat and perform your oral hygiene routine, but they must be worn approximately 22 hours each day for best results.
